Details: I have a 79 gmc 1500 that I might have to sell due to a financial need. I am posting this ad as a feeler so if I have to sell it I know that there will be interest in the truck.The truck has a title but does need work. I had the truck running and driving before I broke the steering column. Trust me this truck is a BEAST! I snapped the column when I was testing the power and flex of the suspension by climbing a tree that I thought could hold my truck. I didnt know that the tree was wrotten on the inside. The truck had parts stolen off of it while it sat before I could repare it. The truck is sitting on 39´ swampers which I have 2 sets for the truck. One set is dry rotted but will hold air to use as spares in time of need or should work on a lighter truck. Im sure that if you coat the side walls with bead sealer they will be a worthy spare on trail day. Both sets have good tred. I dropped in a 305 from a monte carlo with 67k. Engine ran strong when it died. The truck also has a fully built TCI trans and an $800 rear drive shaft, cant remember the brand off the top of my head. There is a narrow but long spot on the driver floor board that is rusting but a simple sheet metal and weld fix should be no problem. Some of the body mount bolts on the bed are missing or rusted.Things the truck is missing:Gas tank(was rusted out, rigged a temporary fuel cell for the test run), MSD(was wired for one but stolen, side mirrors, tailgate, headlights(might have), air filter, power steering pump and lines, battery, master cylinder resevior cover(chrome one stolen), one of the small front triangular windows is brokenThings I have to install on the truck:New steering column with keys, tail lights. I also have a strong, just machined, full 350 bottom end. It was pulled from a camaro and bored .005 over. I have to take the pan back off to know if this is my motor with the forged rods heads and to see which crank I put in.I am a mechanic, and have had many project vehicles and have a few engines. I studdied at Wyotech in PA and studied automotive, light duty diesel, high performance and chassis fabrication. This is a truck with a lot of potential to be restored for road use or made into an awesome mud truck. Something different from the pictures, the hood is attached.$3000 obo. It has an Eaton Fuller 8 speed low-low transmission with an aluminum bed and electric tarp. The back rear end was replaced about 20K miles ago and the only main issue with the truck is that it needs the turbo replaced because it is passing oil.
