Details: 71 gmc long box 1/2 ton 2 wdI put this truck together in June, I have receipts for just under $2000 of new parts.I took the engine out of a 71 or 72 Suburban 350/350 with an hei distributor, PS, dual exhaust with 2 glass packs, all new gaskets, hoses, belts, shocks, wheel bearings, rotors, calipers, pads, brake hoses, master cylinder, Good Year tires, drive shaft hanger bearing, u-joints, timing chain, fuel pump, thermostat... It runs and drives pretty good. I´ve put around 1000 miles on it (16 mpg) highway. It has 98xxx on it now. It use to be a farm truck so it is beat up, and it had a camper in the bed so when I got it didn´t come with a tail gate. Bad wipers scratched the windshield pretty bad. I still drive it but it might bother other people. I would consider it reliable. I drove it from Coon to Cedar Falls (160 miles) Cedar Falls to Des Moines and back home, no major issues. It would cut out on me going down the highway randomly and then it would come out of it. I´ve changed the fuel filters several times so I believe it´s the fuel sending unit, so I got a new one but it´s not installed. Details: For sale here is a 2004 GMC CANYON SLE that is in need of repair. The truck runs and drives fine but does need to have the front end pulled out. It does have quite a bit stuff done to it which makes it look like a really neat truck: 4´ Skyjacker lift with shocks, 16´ moto metal wheels, 33´ tires, chrome nerf bars, Airaid cold air intake, throttle body spacer, and Magnaflow exhaust. This really would be an easy fix and if I had more time I would do it myself. Both air bags did deploy and will need to be replaced. The interior is alittle messy right now but if you put new carpet and seat covers on then the interior would look like new again. I priced new carpet and Coverking seat covers and it came out to be $350. So for that little money you could have an interior that looked better than factory. The truck sounds good and has 149,000 miles with an auto tranny and 4wd. There was no mechanical or suspension damage at the time of the accident. The radiator and condensor are still intact also. Details: I have a 1994 gmc extended cab 4 x 4 z 71. it is red and silver with grey cloth interior. runs and drives but need some tlc. every once in awhile it will shut off for no reason but you can pull over restart it and it´ll drive like nothing ever happened. also has the normal rust and wear of a truck this old. tires are good it has an exhaust leak last donut gasket. oh yeah and a brake line broke on me today so that will need repaired. this would be a good farm truck or work truck or could be fixed into a daily driver if you have more time than I do.
